PRODUCT MANAGEMENT EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM

Traditional product management courses are almost always valuable but the outdated approach they tend to take can be tedious and costly:

  • Expensive travel may be required

  • Maintaining focus for multiple, consecutive days is virtually impossible

  • Exercises based on case studies do not result in information that is immediately relevant to participants’ work

  • With participants from other companies, it can be difficult to share sensitive details

The Product Management Empowerment Program (PMEP) overcomes these limitations, creating a breakthrough, unique experience for your product managers by:

  • Minimizing or eliminating travel via online study and remote live sessions (in-person sessions available also)

  • A unique strategic perspective to managing products and portfolios

  • Delivering an end-to-end view of PM in nine, 90-minute sessions (by default)

  • Generating valuable artifacts like a product strategy, roadmap, and value propositions for the products participants are managing

  • Optionally generate a product strategy presentation that can be delivered to an audience you choose, e.g., senior leaders, at the end of the program

  • Emphasis on presentation skills and effective communication

  • Coaching sessions (included in tuition) to help participants incorporate what they learn into their daily work

  • A safe, team environment where there is no need to avoid sensitive information

After completing the sessions, your product managers will have a shared, end-to-end, and strategic perspective on their work. Participation in the course forms the basis for a PM community that can share knowledge and experience going forward.

After delivering the PMEP for more than a year, we have yet to deliver it exactly the same way twice! In some cases, we’ve adjusted the content and rhythm in the middle of the program to accommodate busy schedules and unforeseen developments. The program is that flexible!

Sessions

These are the default program sessions. Participants watch online videos for each and complete related exercises. Interactive sessions that follow these modules are dedicated to providing feedback on exercises, discussing the impact on the participants’ organization and exploring how concept can be incorporated into team practices.
